Since PhysioNet is funded by the National Institutes of Health, we are required to document its use by the research community. You can help to ensure the future of this unique resource by citing it in your publications.
By special arrangement, our recent Circulation article about PhysioNet and the Resource can be read on Circulation's web site without restrictions. This article should be a citation for all published work that uses materials downloaded from this web site. If you are preparing a paper for publication, please add the following citation to your bibliography:

As PhysioBank and PhysioToolkit grow, we will post sample citations that should be included in publications that make use of specific databases and software packages that have been contributed to PhysioNet.
We are gathering an on-line bibliography and library of publications that make use of materials available via PhysioNet. Many of the databases and software packages available here have been distributed previously on CD-ROMs or via FTP, and have supported a wide variety of research over a period of many years.
You can help by sending citations of your work to us. Please include a complete bibliographic reference (authors, title, journal, volume and page numbers, date, etc.). We encourage you to submit the abstracts or full texts if you wish and if copyrights allow you to do so, or links to other sites on the web where your paper can be read.
Once we have assembled a reasonable amount of this material, we'll post it here where it can be studied and cited by other PhysioNet users, and we will continue to add new references to the list as you send them to us.
