This database contains 168 short ECG recordings (20.48 seconds each) selected to pose a variety of challenges for ECG compressors, in particular for lossy compression methods.

Long-term ECG recordings of 18 subjects referred to the Arrhythmia Laboratory at Boston's Beth Israel Hospital.

The recordings in this collection were originally selected for inclusion in the MIT-BIH Normal Sinus Rhythm Database, but were excluded after study revealed low-grade arrhythmias.

This database includes 78 half-hour ECG recordings chosen to supplement the examples of supraventricular arrhythmias in the MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Database.
